Eastern District Association
of the
American Alliance for Health, Physical
Education, Recreation, and Dance
July 1, 2010
Dear EDA Members:
It is our pleasure to announce the upcoming Eastern District Association (EDA) of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Student Leadership Conference will be done in collaboration with the Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. The conference will be held at East Stroudsburg University’s Stony Acres Environmental Center Friday, October 8 to Sunday, October 10, 2010. Each state and region is offered the opportunity to send 4-5 students and a professional to this event. If possible, please try to have each discipline of health, physical education, recreation, and dance represented. The professional members of EDA are paying a large portion for the cost of this conference. The registration fee for each attendee will be only $50 per participant. This will include food, lodging, and activity fees starting with dinner Friday night and ending with breakfast on Sunday.
The conference will offer team and leadership building activities and presentations from established young and veteran professionals from around the EDA region. Participant numbers are limited to 100 including students, professionals, and presenters. So, please hurry and make your commitment now. The registration deadline will be September 12, 2010.
A registration form and other information will be sent in future correspondence. This letter is just to inform you of the date, cost and participant number restrictions. This information hopefully will help begin dialogue within your states, universities and colleges regarding the selection of students from your state, funding for students, and transportation to the student leadership conference (i.e. carpooling).
As we look forward to a very successful event to invest in the future and leadership of the disciplines we know that you will want not only your students to be part of it but, you will also want to be there also.
Sincerely,
Deitra Wengert
EDA President 2010
